Introducing the Little Red Car.

Have you noticed a little red car popping up in a few of our photos...just like the one below?

So why have we added a car?

Some of the stock images we receive have some interesting camera angles to ensure their products look great. Which is all good, but it does, quite often make the products also look bigger than they really are – think small kids in the background and big toys in the foreground.

Or in some cases the toys look smaller in the standard stock photos. Like these gorgeous construction toys.

We are all about helping you to make the right choice here in the Lucas loves cars garage and we want to help you understand size and make buying things online easier.

We want to be able to give you perspective on the size of the toys we love.   Sure we have the dimensions in the description, but to show you the size compared to the little red car will give you a great idea on what they will be like when they are in your home.

There is nothing worse than making an online purchase and then when you  receive it, it is nothing like you imagined from the photo.

It's what we do.

Way back in 2012, after we had been up and running for just a week, I took a photo to show how much size can vary between 3 toy cars.

Three cars that, seen on their own, could look like they are the same size, but they aren't.

We can't take a photo of all our stock lined up.....although that would be a great shot, WOWSERS that would be a long line of cars!   So we are adding the little red car into stock photos.  The same red car,  sitting in the picture, to allow you to see the size comparison.

The car!

The car we are adding is the  Beetle VW by Siku ( yes you can buy it)
Think of it a little like a game of Where's Wally.   It's not just about searching for the car.

The Beetle VW is approximately 7.5cm x 3 x 4 cm,
it is a pretty stock standard toy car size really.

A great example

Here's a great example of a stock image with nothing in the photo to give the toy any context of how it will look sitting on a shelf.

You can see below,  the  little red car is teeny tiny compared to the Goki Forklift. The VW actually fits on the pallet. Now  if you had only seen the standard image on the right,  it may have been a bit confusing and hard to determine the real-life size of this awesome toy.

I am looking forward to being able to add the ‘little red car’ into as many product shots as I can… It may take a while cause we have one or two products hanging out in the garage…
