Are Mini Stapelstein Good?
Stapelstein stepping stone have been a big hit over the last few years. Known for their strength, light weight and the way that they encourage our kids to move.
Balancing, stepping and sitting, we have discovered so many way these toys can be enjoyed.
Now there are mini Stapelstein stones. Are they any good?
One of our friends road tested them for us, with her two kids. And she has answered your questions here.
Can they actually be used as a stepping stone? YES ✅
My boys are two and five years old and can both easily stand on them with one foot at a time. The top is flat and great for stepping on.
Are they stable? YES ✅
We have used them on our carpet and the floorboards and while they do move a bit more than the original size stepping stones they’re still completely stable and safe to walk on.
Are they big enough to use for colour sorting or as bowls? YES! ✅
They are actually a more appropriate size for colour sorting and using as bowls over the original size. If your kids are anything like mine they want to fill them all the way to the top. The original size can be difficult to fill up due to its large capacity.
Will they be as versatile as the original size? YES ✅
You can use them for everything including water play, in the bath, pool, sensory play (we have frozen ours to make ice bowls) you can use them in fizzy play, potion play, colour matching, and obviously all the obstacle courses you can dream up!
The mini Stapelstein can hold up to 50 kg.

Would you choose Stapelstein Mini Rainbow or Stapelstein Mini Pastel?
If you are interested in trying out Stapelstein, without investing in a full original size set, the mini Stapelstein sets are a great way to go. They are also easier to store.
A small down side to the mini is that they come in a full set. The original size have more flexibility in how they can be purchased. Original stones can be purchases as a single, allowing you to get your favourite colour, and add a confetti stone.
We are a huge fan of combining toys, and the mini stones are great fun to use with your original sized Stapelstein. Big and small stones to create a variety of sizes to step on, or around.
